Kamehameha defeated Hilo 61-55 to capture the Big Island Interscholastic Federation Division I boys basketball championship on Feb. 11 at Hilo Civic. It was the Warriors’ second straight BIIF crown and clinched a berth in the state tournament on Oahu. Members of the D-I champion Warriors include seniors Lanaki Apele, Kaeo Alapai, Jacob Kackley, Kekoa Turner, Keoni Wong, Easten Tanimoto and Kamana’opono Aiu; juniors Shaun Kagawa and Arden Costales; and sophomores La’akea Manliguis, Micah Carter and Rylan Kiko.
